Stanbic IBTC Holdings has supported 250 children living with limb loss with customised prosthetic limbs and education assistance valued at more than N800 million since the launch of its Together4ALimb initiative.
The financial institution disclosed this during the 2026 edition of its Together4ALimb Walk in Victoria Island, Lagos, where it also unveiled 50 new beneficiaries, each receiving a customised prosthetic limb and a Stanbic IBTC Education Trust Fund valued at N1.5 million.
The initiative, now in its 12th year, seeks to restore mobility and improve educational opportunities for children affected by limb loss.
The awareness walk, held under the theme, “Be Un’limb’ited,” brought together employees, beneficiaries, families, partners and members of the public to celebrate the achievements of beneficiaries and raise awareness on inclusion.
Speaking at the event, the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, represented by Mrs Ola Ibitoye, said every child deserved the opportunity to live, learn, dream and succeed regardless of physical condition.
She said: “A prosthetic limb can help a child move more freely, return to school, play with friends, and take part in everyday activities with greater confidence. Educational support also gives these children a chance to build a better future for themselves.”
Sanwo-Olu commended Stanbic IBTC for using its corporate social investment programme to address the needs of vulnerable children.
“This is why initiatives like this are so important. They remind us that inclusion is not simply about giving people support. It is about creating an environment where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential,” she said.
Chief Executive Officer, Stanbic IBTC Holdings, Chuma Nwokocha, said investment in children and education was essential to economic development.
“Supporting the education and development of our younger generations is not just an ethical imperative, but an essential activity for economic growth,” Nwokocha said.
He added that the initiative was “removing barriers to mobility and education,” while demonstrating the importance of collaboration in securing a better future for the next generation.
Also, the Chief Executive Officer, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Wole Adeniyi, said the programme demonstrated the impact of collective action.
“Together4ALimb embodies the power of collaboration in our communities. It is through unwavering engagement and shared efforts that we can create meaningful advancements,” Adeniyi said.
He added: “As we unite our voices and resources, we uplift one another and foster transformative changes that improve the quality of life for all.”
Since its inception in 2015, Together4ALimb has provided prosthetic limbs and more than N300 million in scholarship funding, with total benefits exceeding N800 million.
The beneficiaries span different educational levels, including 23 children in nursery, 97 in primary school, 55 in junior secondary school and 38 in senior secondary school.
Seven beneficiaries have completed secondary education, while eight are currently in universities and two receive specialised support in special schools.
Stanbic IBTC said the initiative forms part of its broader commitment to supporting health, mobility, education and financial inclusion, particularly among vulnerable children.
The organisation said it would continue to expand the programme and create opportunities for children affected by limb loss to pursue education, regain confidence and achieve their potential.
