THF Africa makes top three for PSHAN Media Health Award

The Health Factor Africa (THF Africa) has been shortlisted among the top three nominees for the Media Health Visionary Award at the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN) 2026 Annual Gala and Awards Night.

The platform is nominated alongside Nigeria Health Watch and Public Health Worth for their contributions to health advocacy and public health communication.

PSHAN, chaired by Jim Ovia, with Aliko Dangote as Founding Patron, brings together private sector leaders to strengthen Nigeria’s health system.

At last year’s awards, Ovia described the recognitions as “a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility to drive real impact,” while Aig-Imoukhuede said PSHAN “has shown that when the private sector unites behind a shared vision for health, extraordinary things happen.”

Founded in May 2026 and based in Chicago, United States, THF Africa publishes health reports for Nigeria, Africa and the world. Its coverage includes disease outbreaks, myth checks and explanatory reports in English and Pidgin, with a focus on verified and accessible health information.

“This recognition belongs to our readers, the people who stop to check a story before they share it,” said Wale Ewedemi, Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of The Health Factor Africa.

“We started THF Africa because Nigerians deserve health information they can trust and understand. Being shortlisted alongside organisations we respect tells us the work matters. Win or lose, we will keep putting verified, local health news in people’s hands,” he added.

The full list of nominees is available at pshan.org/2026AwardNominees.
