The member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Yusuf Gagdi, has commenced consultations with All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Plateau State to strengthen the party’s chances in the 2027 general elections.
Gagdi announced this after meeting with 81 members of the APC local government executive committees from Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam local government areas, who endorsed his bid for re-election to the House of Representatives.
The lawmaker described the meeting as an opportunity to discuss the constituency’s future and build consensus among party members.
He said the endorsement had further strengthened his commitment to representing the constituency and delivering on his responsibilities.
Gagdi said the consultations were part of efforts to unite APC members behind the party’s candidates in the presidential, governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections.
He expressed confidence that cooperation among party leaders and grassroots members would help the APC achieve its target of winning all five categories of elections in the constituency.
The lawmaker identified the party’s targets as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, David Barji for Plateau Central Senatorial District, his own re-election and APC candidates contesting for the five State House of Assembly seats.
He also pledged to expand consultations beyond party members, saying the APC would seek support through dialogue, its record of service and its plans for the future.
Gagdi acknowledged the participation of women and youths at the meeting, describing their turnout as a sign of support that came with a responsibility to meet their expectations.
He said the consultations would continue as the party works towards strengthening its internal cohesion and mobilising support across Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam ahead of the 2027 elections.
