The new Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. ’Tunbosun Ogunbanwo, has charged staff to uphold professionalism, teamwork and unity of purpose to strengthen the ministry’s capacity to communicate government policies, programmes and achievements effectively.

Ogunbanwo gave the charge on Wednesday while formally assuming duty at the ministry and embarking on a familiarisation tour of its departments and units, accompanied by directors.

During the tour, he visited the Public Affairs Department, Information Production, Social Media, Public Enlightenment, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Internal Audit Unit, Features Unit, Editing Suite, Camera Unit and Graphics Unit.

He interacted with management and staff, stressing the need for cooperation, dedication and a shared commitment to excellence in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The Permanent Secretary urged the workforce to support his administration, noting that collective responsibility was essential to advancing the ministry’s mandate and moving the state’s information sector forward.

“I urge everyone to work together with professionalism, unity of purpose and a shared commitment to excellence. I count on your support and cooperation as we collectively work to move the information sector forward and strengthen the Ministry’s capacity to effectively communicate government policies, programmes and achievements,” he said.

Ogunbanwo also encouraged staff to embrace innovation, maintain discipline and remain responsive in carrying out their duties.

He said effective public communication and service delivery required a committed workforce capable of conveying government policies and initiatives clearly to the public.

His familiarisation tour provided an opportunity to engage staff across the ministry’s operational units as he began his tenure as Permanent Secretary.
