The Jigawa State Police Command has recovered two stolen motorcycles in Hadejia and Garki local government areas and arrested a 28-year-old suspect.

Police spokesperson, SP Shiisu Lawan Adam, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, identifying the suspect as Hassan Adamu of Tudun Wada Quarters, Hadejia.

He said Adamu was arrested on October 22 following a report that a red Boxer motorcycle had been stolen from Nassarawa Quarters while its owner was at a mosque.

The suspect has been arraigned in court for prosecution, Adam said.

In a separate incident, police operatives attached to Garki Division recovered another red Boxer motorcycle with Lagos registration number LND 130 QN during a routine patrol along Garki–Danzomo Road on October 26.

The motorcycle was found abandoned and suspected to have been stolen.

According to the police spokesperson, a man reported at the division on October 29, claiming the motorcycle was stolen from his residence on October 27.

He said the ownership claim was being verified and the motorcycle had been released to the claimant on bond.

Commissioner of Police Tijjani Murtala commended the officers for their vigilance and prompt response, urging residents to report suspicious activities and theft cases to the nearest police station.

He also advised motorcycle owners to secure their vehicles properly and keep ownership documents readily available to facilitate recovery when theft occurs.
