Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Monday inaugurated the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) Door-to-Door Movement in Ilorin, the state capital, as the group commenced grassroots mobilisation for Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.

At the inauguration, AbdulRazaq charged the movement’s newly inaugurated executives to intensify grassroots engagement and communicate the policies and programmes of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda to residents across the state.

The governor commended the movement’s leadership for establishing a platform to take information about government policies to communities across Kwara, urging members to listen to residents’ concerns, provide feedback to relevant authorities and explain government programmes accurately.

He advised the members to obtain reliable information from official sources and engage residents peacefully and respectfully.

“The movement must not only take government messages to the people but also bring their concerns back to the relevant authorities to guide policy adjustments and improve living standards,” AbdulRazaq said.

He also urged the movement to work in coordination with all structures of the All Progressives Congress (APC), from the national leadership to ward officials and polling unit committees.

According to him, the initiative should extend beyond the inauguration ceremony and translate into sustained grassroots engagement.

Danladi Highlights AbdulRazaq’s Achievements

The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and APC governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, expressed confidence in the party’s prospects in the state, attributing this to what he described as the achievements of the AbdulRazaq administration across the state’s 193 wards.

Danladi cited infrastructure development, civil service reforms, pension administration and programmes for youths, women and senior citizens as areas in which he said the administration had recorded progress.

He urged the movement to focus on the party’s record and policy agenda rather than resort to personal attacks against political opponents.

The APC governorship candidate expressed optimism that the party would secure substantial support in Kwara during the 2027 general elections.

“Tinubu is for Kwara, and Kwara is for Tinubu. By God’s grace, 2027 is for the APC. We know where we are today, and we are moving forward,” he said.

Kwara APC Targets Victory in 2027

The Kwara State APC Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, said the party was preparing to contest all elective positions in the state in the 2027 general elections.

He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to securing victory for Tinubu, its governorship candidate and candidates seeking election into the National Assembly and the Kwara State House of Assembly.

Fagbemi also dismissed claims of alternative political arrangements in the state, citing statements by Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory in support of his position.

He further cautioned opposition groups against relying on financial inducements to challenge the APC, insisting that his party remained determined to retain its political presence in Kwara.

Tompolo Donates 34 Vehicles to Movement

The Founder and Grand Patron of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, urged residents of Kwara to support Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

Represented at the event by High Chief Kestin Pondi, Ekpemupolo said electing APC candidates across the different levels of government would, in his view, strengthen the President’s ability to implement policies aimed at economic stabilisation and national development.

He urged Nigerians to support the administration, citing security, infrastructure, healthcare and education as key areas of national development.

Ekpemupolo also announced a donation of 34 campaign vehicles to the movement to support its mobilisation activities across Kwara State.

The vehicles, he said, were intended to improve the group’s mobility and strengthen its grassroots campaign operations.

Movement Coordinator Seeks Support for Tinubu

The National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Comrade Sunday Adekanbi Asuku, called on residents of Kwara to support Tinubu in the forthcoming general elections.

Asuku commended AbdulRazaq for his administration’s record in the state and his support for the President, arguing that federal backing had contributed to the governor’s performance.

Highlighting the Tinubu administration’s record, the movement coordinator pointed to industrial relations, among other areas, and cited the absence of prolonged strikes by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) as an example.

The inauguration marks the movement’s formal mobilisation effort in Kwara ahead of the 2027 general elections, with its leadership pledging to take the campaign to communities across the state.
