Tragedy has struck the family of the Chief Medical Director, CMD, Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Nguru, Yobe State, Dr. Hadiza Usman Abdullahi, following the death of her twin daughters, Dr. Hadiya Usman and Dr. Aisha Usman, two days apart.
Hadiya, a medical doctor, died on Friday, while her twin sister, Aisha, a Doctor of Pharmacy, PharmD, passed away on Sunday.
The deaths have plunged the family, colleagues and members of the medical community into mourning, with condolences and prayers pouring in for the bereaved family.
The mother of the deceased confirmed the deaths in separate messages posted on her WhatsApp status, announcing the passing of her twin daughters.
The sisters, who were born together and pursued careers in the health sector, died within days of each other in a development that has left relatives, friends and colleagues grieving.
The tragic development has also generated an outpouring of sympathy, with colleagues and well-wishers offering prayers and condolences to the family.
As of press time, no details had been released publicly on the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
The medical community has continued to mourn the loss of the sisters while sympathising with their mother and other members of the family.
