The Association of Igbo Town Unions (ASITU) has vowed to support only candidates with concrete plans to address the alleged marginalisation of the Igbo, revive the South-East economy and accelerate development ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The association said it would no longer accept election promises without workable solutions, urging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure free, fair and credible polls in which winners emerge through popular support and their capacity to deliver good governance.
