Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said Nigeria has moved far away from the vision of its founding fathers, blaming the President Bola Tinubu administration for worsening the situation in the last three years.
Atiku, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), made the remark on Thursday in his State of the Nation broadcast to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
He accused the Tinubu administration of relying on promises rather than its performance in office, saying Nigerians were yet to see the expected improvement in their living conditions.
The former vice president also raised concerns over the rising cost of living, which he said had made life increasingly difficult for citizens.
He called on the Federal Government to provide details of its conditional cash transfer programme, particularly how the funds were being distributed and the people benefiting from it.
